The zoo in Columbia is open for the new year. I'm not talking about Riverbanks! I'm talking about that cave of chaos in Columbia better known as the General Assembly.
I'm calling this website "Open South Carolina" because I'm using it to "open" the government to public view.
I will be shining the bright spot light of exposure on the inner workings of our law makers!
Here is a radio ad that we ran last year to call attention to House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Danny Cooper when he was holding up a bill to require legislators to record how they vote on every law they pass.
I also cut this 90 second video montage of the debate in the Senate on the same bill. It shows Senators Larry Martin and Glenn McConnell calling it a "fad" to want to know how your legislator votes on laws. Really! Watch it and see!
To keep up with all that we are doing and to know what you can do to help, subscribe to my e-mail list to get the latest news about what you can do to help unleash liberty in South Carolina!
I only send e-mails to notify people of what is going on... normally in our Statehouse but sometimes with local government... and what folks can do to help improve the situation. Things like "please contact your representative and ask them to support bill number such and such", or "please come to the state house on such and such a day and attend a subcommittee hearing". Things like that.
Most importantly, I DON'T SEND SPAM! I detest the stuff. I don't want to waste your time. When you receive an e-mail from me, you can know that it is important new information or a request for you to act to make South Carolina a better place to live!
To add yourself to this list, simply complete the form at the subscribe link to the left. The only information I require is an e-mail address and a county. Why do I need to know what county you live in? So that if I am alerting folks in one county about a local issue, I don't bother the folks that don't live in that county! I recognize the value of your time and don't want to waste it!
E-mail that you'll receive will almost always be about things you can do to help with state and local issues.
If you enter your address, it will allow me to know what state House and Senate district you live in. Then I can send you information about what your representatives are doing and what you can do about it. If you don't want to enter an address, you can give me your state House and Senate district and US House district directly.
All this information simply allows me to better target e-mail only to those who need to see it. I don't like folks wasting my time, and I don't want to waste yours!
Thanks for all you do!
